Motivational Monday #65 For All Your Days Prepare
For all your days prepare. When you are the anvil bear the blow; when you are the hammer strike.
Okay so the irony is that I am totally unprepared for this blog article (apart from having chosen the quote lat week). In fact I’m going to break every piece of blogging guidance and advice that I have ever seen and write this in one go and post it immediately. Yup, very likely there are going to be typo’s and grammatical errors … please forgive me … for one thing it’s a celebration today …
You see today turns out to be the 5th anniversary of the edenchanges blog. September 9th 2008 I registered the site and began to post articles. I knew I’d done this in September but it wasn’t until a few moments ago that I realised that today was the anniversary (WordPress flagged up a notice when I logged in today, which is how I know).
I’ve become quite prolific with the posts in the past two years and the readership of the blog has increased in step with that. There are also a growing number of subscribers, (it’s free – just put your email into the box on the right of your screen) and the frequency of comments is accelerating.
And I want to say thank you.
Writing a blog can be a very insular experience with lots of self-doubt and worry over the content and style of the articles, so every comment, subscriber and web hit is treasured. And there are more and more of them these days which is fantastic. Indeed last week I meet a woman who it turns out reads the Motivational Monday blogs and not only reads them but actively looks forward to them. She said that she found them both inspirational and motivational. Honestly I was touched by that.
And it made me realise that I’ve been letting you readers down. Whilst I post most Monday’s it’s still sporadic. So here’s a birthday commitment that I promise I will stick to … there will be a Motivational Monday each Monday, every Monday, from now on; no exceptions, no omissions.
So to you the regular readers thank you and come back for more. For you the casual, drop in reader, thank you also and again come back for more.
And as for the quote this week – yes do prepare for your days. Had I been prepared I would have been able to use this birthday anniversary to greater impact in the text and link the message into the quote with greater skill.
You see, preparation fundamentally enables you to play your best game, whether that is withstanding the knocks and blows of life or capitalising on the opportunities.
So consider for yourself as we move into the last third of the year – are you prepared to make it the best part of your 2013? … And have you subscribed to the edenchanges blog yet?
Happy birthday to us and thank you, to you all!
