Motivational Monday #66 Every Day is the Best Day
“Write it on your heart that every day is the best day in the year.”
This morning the omens for the day weren’t good; parking challenges, delays at the train station and wet, chilly weather all said ‘gloom and doom’.
But you know what? Let’s take a different view. Sure the morning didn’t flow like it could have done but today is the only 16 September 2013 that we will ever get. Better to embrace the day, roll with the punches and celebrate the successes that come along, than to prejudge it as a bad day and simply disengage from it.
In the interval since my delayed train journey this morning and writing this blog I’ve experienced successes that were unexpected and challenges that I didn’t foresee.
And that’s life.
Let’s get away from this crazy idea of waiting for the “right day / weather / situation” and instead open our hearts and minds to the brilliance of the life that is here with us today. To wait for ‘the right day’ is to wait for eternity.
When you think about it for a moment, today is the perfect day to call that person you’ve been putting off calling; it’s the perfect day to start exercising; the perfect day to stop that bad habit you have or generally the perfect day to do all that stuff that you have been putting off for the ‘right moment’ – because today is here with us now.
Sure you can wait for tomorrow but tomorrow will bring it’s own roadblocks, challenges and tasks to do. Why wait for that? Why put off the start of something brilliant or delay the ending of something bad?
Truly today is your best day to live the life you want.
